Sub-contractors and suppliers from Daventry and the wider Northamptonshire area are today being urged to attend an upcoming ‘Meet the Buyer’ event which will highlight supply chain opportunities for public sector construction projects in the area.
The free event is being hosted by building contractors Jeakins Weir, Wates, Morgan Sindall, and Clegg Construction, who are all looking to attract new supply chain partners for their work on the empa ii (East Midlands Property Alliance) Construction Framework.
The Northamptonshire ‘Meet the Buyer’ event is being held on Thursday, November 27, 2014 from 9am to 1pm at the iCon.
The event will formally open at 9am with an address by Councillor Chris Millar, Leader of Daventry District Council, which is supporting the event.
Councillor Millar said: “There is major investment in Daventry and the rest of Northamptonshire at the moment and I would urge local firms to take advantage of this event, which offers them a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the key contractors, find out about the exciting development projects coming up, and generate business opportunities.”
Alan Coole, head of service at empa, said: “This Meet the Buyer event will enable local businesses to meet the four empa ii framework contractor partners and potentially win sub-contracted work from them. November 27 has to be on the diary of anyone involved in building in Northamptonshire that wants public sector work.”
